Nonogram · how to play

Nonogram in 60 seconds

  1. The board is a 5×5 grid. Each row and column has numbers above or beside it.
  2. Each number tells you a run of consecutive filled cells in that row or column.
  3. A row clue of 2 1 means: two filled cells, at least one gap, then one filled cell.
  4. A row clue of 5 means: every cell in that row is filled.
  5. A row clue of 0 means: every cell in that row is empty.

Fill / Mark

Toggle between Fill mode (click to fill cells) and Mark mode (click to X out cells you've determined are empty). Marks are a thinking aid, not part of the answer.

Scoring

Each time you fill a cell that should be empty, the mistake counter ticks up. The puzzle is still solvable; your mistake count appears in the share string. Zero mistakes = perfect solve.

Tips

  • If a row or column clue equals the board size (5), every cell is filled.
  • If the sum of the clues + gaps equals the board size, the layout is forced.
  • Mark cells you're sure are empty to stop second-guessing.
