About PuzzleDaily

Today's puzzles, every day.

What we do

To be the easiest place to discover and play the day's daily puzzles. One page, every game in our network, with links straight to today's challenge.

We focus on daily puzzle games. Every page on puzzledaily.org is built from the _factory/games-registry.json single source of truth for the games network, cited and linkable so readers can trace any number back to its source.

Who this is for

PuzzleDaily is built for people who play Wordle, Connections, the NYT Mini, Worldle, or any daily-puzzle format and want a curated list of solid alternatives.

Why this exists

Public data on daily puzzle games is technically free, but practically locked behind file formats, acronyms, and paywalled dashboards. PuzzleDailyexists to close that gap: take the raw federal and public-sector data, and turn it into pages a normal person can read in thirty seconds.

How we work

  • Primary source only. We pull from the _factory/games-registry.json single source of truth for the games network and cite the exact dataset and version on every page.
  • No invented numbers. If a figure is not in the underlying public data, it does not appear on puzzledaily.org. We never generate synthetic statistics to fill gaps.
  • Methodology, in plain English. PuzzleDaily reads from a registry of games we build (LexSweep, NumGrid, MapDash, HexMerge) and renders directory cards linking to each game's own site. Each game maintains its own daily reset, its own stats, and its own brand. PuzzleDaily exists purely to make them discoverable in one place.
  • Refreshed on a schedule. The directory updates whenever a game launches, retires, or changes positioning. Individual games refresh on their own daily schedules at 00:00 UTC.
  • Corrections welcome. Readers flag issues all the time. When the source fixes a record, PuzzleDaily follows.

Known limitations

PuzzleDaily is editorial-only — no per-user data, no accounts, no stats. The linked games each store their own player data in your browser's local storage. PuzzleDaily uses Google Analytics for aggregate traffic measurement only.

Why a separate hub site?

We could have built each game as a section of one big portal (poki.com, miniplay.com, etc.). We deliberately did not. Each game in the network gets its own domain because: (a) a focused single-game site ranks better in search than a buried subpage; (b) a game like LexSweep deserves its own brand identity, not a generic "puzzle category" label; (c) the daily-puzzle ritual works better on a dedicated page (open lexsweep.com → solve → close, rather than navigate a portal). PuzzleDaily exists as the OPPOSITE of a portal — a thin directory that drives traffic INTO the focused single-game sites.

About the games network

PuzzleDaily is part of a small network of independent daily-puzzle games: LexSweep (5×5 word-square daily), NumGrid (5-digit number daily), MapDash (geography-trivia daily), HexMerge (hex-grid 2048-variant endless). All four are built by the same team and link to each other via the games-network registry.

Independence

PuzzleDaily is an independent publication. We are not funded, owned, or directed by any of the agencies, companies, or organizations that appear in our data. Hosting is paid for by advertising — see our Privacy Policy for details — and we do not take paid placements, sponsored rankings, or "remove-my-entry" fees.

History

PuzzleDaily launched in 2026 as part of a small portfolio of independent public-data sites. It has been maintained and updated continuously since.
